Ashar

Ashad or Asar or Ashadh or असार or आषाढ़ is a third month of Nepali Calendar. Jestha month lies between second half of June and first half of July. There are no fixed public holiday in the month of Ashad. However some festivals such as Dahi Chewra Khane Din is celebrated in the 15th of Ashar month. Panauti Jatra, one of the popular festival of Panauti, is also celebrated in Ashad month. Ashad month consists of either 31 or 32 days. This month lies in the Summer season or Grishma Ritu in Nepali. The weather is hot in Ashad with plenty rainfall providing farmes to cultivate rice. Ashad month is the busiest month for the farmers because in this month most of the farms are being cultivated with rice. This Ashar month can also be called as month of farmer because the month of cultivating rice and farmers are very happy in this month. This is the month when monsoon really starts effectively.
